About NickFB — How We Check Facebook Names

NickFB is a free, independent website that turns a name into stylish versions you can copy, and tells you honestly whether each style is likely to pass Facebook’s name review, is risky, or will be rejected. It is run by the NickFB Editorial Team and launched in October 2026.

What NickFB does

  • Name preview: type a name on the NickFB home page and see stylish versions on a mock profile card.
  • Verdicts: each style is marked passes, risky or rejected for the main profile name.
  • Symbol trays: hearts, stars, frames and blank characters to copy for your nickname, bio or posts.
  • Guides: plain-English pages on Facebook’s name rules, Hindi, Urdu and Bangla names, and group chat names.

How we decide a verdict

Verdicts start from Facebook’s name standards: a profile name should not contain symbols, numbers, unusual capitalisation, repeated characters, characters from several languages at once, titles or words that are not a name. A style that only uses ordinary letters gets passes; a style that changes the letters themselves (bold or italic Unicode letters) gets risky, because Facebook may accept it and later ask you to change it; frames, emoji and symbols get rejected for the main name and are offered for nicknames and bios instead.

When a reader or our team has actually tried a name on a profile, we record the date and the result next to it. Where nobody has tried it yet, the page says so. We never present a guess as a test result.

Where the characters come from

Every stylish letter on NickFB is a public Unicode character, not a font. That is why it can be copied and pasted anywhere, and why some phones show an empty box when they lack the character.

FAQ

Is NickFB free?

Yes. The name preview, symbol trays and guides are free and need no account.

Can NickFB change my Facebook name for me?

No. You change your name yourself in Facebook’s settings; NickFB only gives you text to copy and an honest verdict.

Why does a style show as “risky”?

Because Facebook sometimes accepts styled letters and later asks for a change. We would rather warn you than promise it will pass.

The limits of our verdicts are set out in the NickFB disclaimer; how we handle data is in the privacy policy, and the rules for using the site are in the terms of use. Start styling your name on NickFB.
